Yahoo Messenger
Well thats the most widely used messenger for windows.. the LINUX version is just tooo obsolete...

gtalk
The google messenger.. It is small fast and easy and dont hungs up like yahoo do sometimes.. I use that too frequently as i am at orkut.. great for google users..site


Pidigin.

It is the most common messenger available for Linux users, also available for Windows. It sure is great as it you cud chat from it using a lot of IDs including.. Yahoo, Gtalk, AOL, My Space...and many more.. But it lacks the webcam facility available in Yaoo Messenger.. Visit the site here. Pidgin

It has created much a hype around.. i dont know why. U cud make free calls from it.. to other pcs ofcourse, they do charge for PC to mobile calls... worth a try , small, fast and easy.site

Trillian
I dont know how is that

mIRC
mIRC is a popular Internet Relay Chat client .. I havent use that, but sure have heard of that..site
